Kuno was in the courtyard writing on a piece of paper. He was trying to write a song. He had a tune going through his head and he wanted to use it for a song. He had a conversation with the music president and the president had told him to branch out of his comfort zone. Kuno decided writing a song was a perfect way to branch out. Kuno had a lot of fun writing lyrics to songs as the tunes ran through his mind. Taral was just returning from the swimming pool with her towel draped over her head. She was walking towards the main building. So far, the first few days of practice weren’t too bad. Although, the captain was a little nuttier for her taste, but what can you do in a school like this? Kuno kept writing his song lyrics, but nothing would be able to satisfy him regarding the song. He wanted it to be written so people would enjoy listening to it. Taral stopped in her steps so she could find her mp3 play and headphones. She always had her music up loud in her dorm. Kuno had given up on his lyrics for now, and he put the paper in his pocket. He stood up and waved to Taral. He saw she had headphones in so he didn’t want to bug her if it was a problem. Really, he was just trying to make a friend. Taral looked up just then when she caught something moving just out of the corner of her eye. “Huh?” “H-hello.” Kuno said as he spoke a little louder than his normal quiet voice. He waved to her hoping she would talk to him. A smile started to form on his face. Taral’s brow arched as she looked at the boy. “Um…hi…” she said. Kuno smiled. “W-what are you d-doing out here t-this fine evening?” He asked politely. He tilted his hat. Hat tilting was a sign of politeness. Kuno figured the best way to make friends was to act polite, so that is exactly what he did. “I’m going back to my dorm…” Taral said as she started to back away. “Oh…I a-apologize if I am bothering you.” Kuno said. “Wh-what’s your name miss?” Taral sighed as she took the towel from her head to show her purple hair. “It’s Taral.” “That’s a really nice n-name Taral.” Kuno said as he messed with his falcon necklace. He was wondering if he should take his glamor off. “My na-name is Kuno Fireheart.” He said nervously. Taral eased a bit. She laid her towel along her shoulders. “Okay.” She really didn’t know how to respond to the other or really why he had approached her. So far none of the male body of the school has had any interest in her. Kuno was avoiding eye contact. He was extremely shy and he started to blush a bit. “I’m sorry i-if my low tone of vo-voice i-is bothering, I’m j-just a bit sh-shy around gi-girls. That’s all hehe.” He smiled a bit; he wanted to show her his warlock form. He wanted to impress her. “I see…” Taral said. This one really is an odd duck though… “Well, good thing no one around here treats me like a girl.” “Oh? Why? Y-you look like a girl a-all the same to me, y-you seem nice an-and p-pr-pretty and all…” Kuno blinked confusingly. He snuck a glance into her eyes, but he still attempted to avoid complete eye contact. Taral sighed and shrugged. “I guess we have differing ideas of femininity, my friend.” Kuno smiled and asked her what her opinion was. He wanted to understand her a bit more. Taral pointed to her rather flat chest. “First thing…I greatly doubt any guy wants to shove his face into these…” Kuno wanted to laugh, but he kept his composure. “Y-you think guys always care ab-about th-that? H-how do you know so-some guys like wo-woman maybe…” Kuno blushed even more. Taral’s brow arched up. This guy is really odd. Her brow narrowed as she leaned in close to him. “Oie…what are you anyway?” Kuno closed his eyes. He got extremely nervous to the max. “N-no-not-nothing” He smiled to keep her from getting mad and to make her smile a bit. He laughed nervously as he started to rub his necklace again. “Come on…spill it.” Taral said as she loomed over him a bit more. “Um…well…I think you’re p-per-perfect just how you are…” His voice got very soft. “I w-wo-wouldn’t change one thing about you, even th-those on your c-ch-chest.” He got extremely red. Taral’s face went to a blank pokerface. “Um…you don’t even know anything about me other than my name…” She said without a certain tone. “W-we-we’re I’m talking ab-about yo-your looks for ri-right n-now T-Taral.” He blushed a ton now. “Huh?” She blinked in a confusing manor. Is this kid high? Was he trying to pull a joke on her? Kuno had sweat dripping down his face. “I n-need to change into my normal form.” He said as he began to step back. He spun his falcon necklace and quickly grew six feet tall and gained pointy ears. “That’s better.” He smiled. I wonder if she has caught on to what I said…She’s hot, but I have no idea how to tell her. Ugh, I hate how shy I am. “Wh-What?” Taral asked as she started to cover her eyes. She wasn’t sure if he was skilled enough to be somewhat decently covered in his true form or not. Kuno blinked a few times as he thought to himself. What is her problem? I’m fully clothed. “Uhm, is something wrong? I was just changing forms…I can change back if you prefer it.” He sighed. Taral pulled her hand back as she sighed. “No…I have…just been caught off guard by some, well…not well-skilled shifters...” “I’m not a shifter,” Kuno said as he rubbed his pointy ears a bit, “Th-this is just my real form. I’m a warlock.” He was worried if she liked his real form. “So…you’re kind of a Harry Potter then?” She replied as she eyed his slightly taller form. “Except I don’t carry a wand. I use magic from my hands.” Kuno held a hand away from her and lit it on fire. “I’m a fire warlock.” He made the fire go out as he began to make eye contact with her. Taral jumped back a bit when the flame appeared just as quickly as it had vanished. Kuno’s eyes widened. “I’m sorry, I di-didn’t mean to sc-scare you.” He stepped back against the wall. He wanted to make friends, not scare people. “Maybe I should…” He put his hand on his necklace. Taral collected herself rather quickly but kept her guard up. “Like that’s scary...” Kuno felt bad and he spun his necklace and he quickly turned back into his human form. He shyly leaned back against the wall. He was afraid now. “Bye Taral…” He slowly stepped back one-step at a time until he was about out of the courtyard and away until he was out of her sight. He sighed as he made his way back to his room to avoid talking with her or anyone else for the rest of the night. He would feel really bad until he apologized to her the next day.
